The activities in my past few articles have laid the foundation for your challenge today, the creation of your Personal Vision Statement.
You will benefit from having a Personal Vision Statement because:
- It will help you to more sharply focus on what is important in your life now and in the future.
- It will improve your decision making and increase your ability to resist distractions that interfere with your goals.
- It will fortify you against disappointments and shift your attention from perceived problems to potential solutions.
- It will remind you of the life you want to live and the person you want to be.
If you haven’t read my previous articles or done the activities in them, I encourage you to do that before attempting to create your Personal Vision Statement.
Come back to this challenge when you have identified your Character Strengths, clarified your Values, completed the Coaching Needs Checklist and Wheel of Life and written your Letter From The Future.
Here are some examples of Personal Vision Statements to give you further food for thought:
“To be a teacher and to be known for inspiring my students to be more than they thought they could be.”
Oprah Winfrey.
“To have fun in my journey through life and learn from my mistakes.”
Sir Richard Branson.
“To help and connect with other people as I explore my talents, skills and abilities.”
Darryl Fry, Advantage Education.
Now develop your own Personal Vision Statement so that it is unique and appropriate for you.
After you write your Personal Vision Statement, post it in a comment here or on Advantage Education’s Facebook page.
Any likes and shares are also appreciated as they help to spread this post to a wider audience.
Now go and have a great life.
